Yazmin Lacey’s 4/4

Soweto’s guest this week is East London born, Nottingham based singer Yazmin Lacey.

‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.

Soweto’s guest this week is East London born, Nottingham based singer Yazmin Lacey. She draws everything from jazz, R&B, soul and electronic influences into her music, and most recently has collaborated with fellow leading UK lights including Ezra Collective and Joe Armon-Jones.

Yazmin’s new album Teal Dreams releases this Friday. Ahead of it, Yazmin has four albums to share for our 4/4 series, which will take us into her musical world. To start her week, Yazmin chooses a favourite album from a Melbourne group who have forged a distinctive sound.

Also in the programme, there is music from Milena Casado, DoomCannon, and Mulatu Astatke.
