Reggae and rocksteady singer Hollie Cook provides her carnival mix.
Hollie is a singer who began her career in the mid 00s. The daughter of Paul Cook from Sex Pistols and former Culture Club backing singer Jeni Cook, she spent a few years singing with the re-formed band The Slits. She released her self-titled debut album in 2011 and in October this year releases her fifth album - Shy Girl via Mr Bongo. Put together across three years and four cities – from LA and NYC, to Vejer de la Frontera in Spain and Cook’s hometown London – Shy Girl was written with long-time collaborators, The General Roots Band, and features a contribution from legendary dub MC Horseman.
