Elizabeth Alker showcases an afternoon of great summer music-making including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in Shostakovich and Beethoven from Edinburgh.
Throughout the summer we’ll be hearing from some of the best music-making at this year’s BBC Proms. Today, the BBC National Chorus of Wales lower voices join BBC National Orchestra of Wales and conductor Ryan Bancroft in Shostakovich’s Symphony No 13 "Babi Yar".
Plus there are highlights from Scotland, with summer music making from the Edinburgh International Festival. Today the Monteverdi Choir, English Baroque Soloists and conductor Jonathan Sells perform music by Purcell; and the Sitkovetsky Trio perform chamber music by Beethoven.
