4. Anna and the Dame

Mr Emmanuel earwigs at a table next to imperious actress Dame Laura, as she lunches with a rising starlet. Stars Hugh Burden.

Mr Emmanuel is an earwigger.

He likes to eavesdrop on other peoples' conversations.

He always lunches at the same restaurant, and selects the table nearest the diners who will provide him with the best entertainment.

Dame Laura is a well-known actress and she's lunching with her agent and a rising young actress.

Mr Emmanuel is sat at the table next to them. He can overhear all they have to say but then - such is the force of Dame Laura's personality - it would be hard not to overhear her anywhere...
