'The pigeons were washing their uxters!'

“Sean, would you give out a wee announcement?” says Iris in Ballyclare. “Ask everybody to remember to put water out for the wee wild birds. If it's small enough they can have a drink, or if it's a wee bit bigger they can have a nice cool bath in it in.”
“Thank you!” says Sean. “I wouldn’t have thought of it. It reminds me, I was sitting in the house a couple of weeks ago. And four pigeons settled in the puddles. They were really enjoying themselves. And then they did something I never saw before. The pigeons rolled over on their side, and put a wing in the air. They were washing their uxters.”
