'And that was the Can I Leave You Home song!'
Sean explains how the Can I Leave You Home song came about.
“That's not the way it happened in Tamnaherin!” says Charlie Harkin. Sean has just been explaining the ‘Can I Leave You Home’ songs of the Showband days. “You would wait for the right song to make a move,” Sean says, “and go through a couple of thousand people to get to the love or your life… and then you’d say, ‘Can I leave you home?’” “What happened was this,” says Charlie. “First, you asked for a normal dance, then you waited for a slow dance with her, and then you asked her up for a mineral. If she went for a mineral with you, there was a 99% chance you'd be walking her home that night.”
With music from Queen, Bedrocks, Dwight Yoakam, and more.
