Lepra
Lepra is a UK-based charity providing diagnosis, treatment, and support for some of the world’s most vulnerable people impacted by leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF). For more than 100 years, Lepra has been at the forefront of research and development into new medications and treatments for these neglected diseases. The organisation works in partnership with affected communities to support people’s physical, emotional, financial, and social wellbeing.
Leprosy is not a disease of the past

Leprosy still exists, and destroys lives. Early detection and treatment can reduce the life altering disabilities often associated with leprosy, but more needs to be done when it comes to the prejudices still affecting the millions of people dealing with its lifelong impact.
Restoring independence, dignity and hope

The charity supports people like Maksuda affected by leprosy from diagnosis to vital follow up care. With the help of a business loan Maksuda was able start her successful garment business and poultry farm.
Your kindness can empower

£24 can train a volunteer to help detect leprosy within the community and enable thousands of people just like Maksuda to face their diagnosis with confidence and dignity.
