Clare Balding

With perfect timing just as we reach the second week of Wimbledon - taking us on her 10-song Tracks of My Years musical journey, is quite simply one of the UK’s greatest broadcasters – Clare Balding.

She is the inspirational voice of authority with the ability to take us from the Olympics to Crufts to Sports Personality Of The Year and as I said is currently heading the BBC team at Wimbledon, so it's no surprise that she's a previous winner of the RTS Sports Presenter Of The Year Award, twice.

Throughout the week, she describes stepping up-to-the-mark in the many challenges she’s been faced with - from her early career as an amateur flat jockey to her commentary at the King’s Coronation. She is also renowned as a best-selling author and earlier this year Clare published her latest book, “Animal All Stars”, where Clare tells us about some of the most mind-blowing and unusual skills of her favourite animals. As creatures great and small go head-to-head in eight unpredictable sporting events. Posing questions like “Is a dungbeetle really stronger than a gorilla?”
