Survivors Fund (SURF)
Survivors Fund (SURF) supports survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. SURF provides healthcare, education, and economic opportunities to help genocide survivors rebuild their lives and in so doing help them overcome their trauma.
Meet Sandrine

Sandrine was just eleven when her parents were killed in front of her, raped by militia, cut with machetes and infected with HIV. With the support of Survivors Fund (SURF), Sandrine has been able to rebuild her life. She is a truly remarkable woman.
A family and home of her own

Survivors Fund (SURF) directed Sandrine to counselling, secured funding to build a house and supported her to set up a food stall at her local market. She now has a successful business, and a family and home of her own.
A better future

There are 250,000 survivors in Rwanda – many impoverished, disabled and unsurprisingly still traumatised. Survivors Fund (SURF) provides vital support - housing, healthcare, education, work – so like Sandrine, they too can have a better future.
