Purcell, Schubert and Beamish from Edinburgh and the Farewell from Mahler's Song of the Earth

Today's Classical Live brings to a close a week of showcase performances by the Elias Quartet from the Edinburgh New Town Concert Series, with music by Purcell, Beamish and Schubert.

Plus there's the powerful final movement from Mahler's great 'Song of the Earth' - the Abschied or Farewell - recorded in Warsaw, as well as Stravinsky's 1930 neo-classical Symphony of Psalms, performed by the BBC Singers and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
