'It wasn’t very lucky for the rabbit!'
The Ballymena Bog Attendant is wondering why people used to carry a rabbit’s foot.
“You played a Willie Nelson duet recently and in the song he talks about giving his girl a lucky rabbit’s foot,” says the Ballymena Bog Attendant. “I remember this was quite common way back but not now! What’s that all about? It wasn’t very lucky for the rabbit!”
“Well absolutely!” Sean says. “You had people carrying them in their purses, or keyrings, men carrying them on their trouser belt! And what about the horse shoe? Why was the horse shoe regarded as lucky? I mean, it fell off the poor old horse!”
With music from Dave Edmunds, Del Shannon, Sy Cranstoun, and more.
