AI - is it time to embrace the future?

Two centuries ago English textile workers embarked on a sometimes violent campaign against the use of certain types of cost saving machinery. They were known as Luddites. That name is still used today to describe people who resist progress. Many look back on the textile workers as being unsophisticated, uneducated and unwilling to embrace the future but couldn't all of that be said about those who oppose the increasing use of artificial intelligence in our lives?
