At Spiritual Home Brian tells Kate he’s worried about her finding somewhere to live and thinks she should move in with him. Kate can’t believe he’s serious, but Brian insists they should give it a try. Kate is still dismissive until Brian confesses that he feels lonely, so his motives in asking her are not entirely selfless. It hit him really hard over Christmas, missing Jennifer. However, he tells Kate she should still look at a prospective flat tomorrow, if she wants to. But now she’s worried about Brian and talks herself into the idea that maybe they should try living together. It’ll either be absolutely brilliant or completely awful!

There’s a staff meeting at the Vets’ Surgery and Alistair announces he wants Denise to train Paul up in the bits of admin he hasn’t already covered. Paul freely admits he’s reorganised the way the office works in her absence and Denise isn’t happy. When Alistair goes, Paul calls Denise out for being stroppy and says he thinks he knows what’s going on between her and Alistair. Later, Paul explains to both that he thinks he has disrupted their working relationship - and that’s why she’s unhappy. After Paul’s gone Denise admits she panicked earlier, thinking Paul had guessed there was something going on between them. They admit it’s been a strange week before Alistair says he was going to kiss Denise the other day, when John rang. And she would have kissed him back. The moment hangs before they back off, citing the need to respect professional boundaries. Then Denise goes.
