Tonight's mixtape opens with the ebullient Gloria from JS Bach's mighty B minor Mass, dancing through to Carl Davis' glittering Pride and Prejudice theme, Jessye Norman singing Strauss and a sprightly Brazilian dance by Guarnieri. We hear bewitching harmonies from Jocelyn Pook, a haunting arrangement of Tavener's The Lamb for string ensemble, a reflective piano miniature by Peter Gregson and finally, Jan Sandström's slow-motion reimagining of a 17th-century winter hymn, Es ist ein Ros entsprungen.
