United Response
United
Responseis
anational disability charity offering support for autistic people, adults
with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We campaign for equal access to the same rights and
opportunities in society, and challenge discrimination.
Meet Kayleigh

Kayleigh
has cerebral palsy and is very independent, and deserves to be able to travel
without fear of harassment or abuse. United Response supported her after she
was subjected to disability hate crime.
Supporting People

Thousands
of disability hate crimes are reported each year but many more people don’t realise
they are a victim of hate crime, so don’t report it. United Response supports a
third-party reporting centre to encourage people to report hate crimes.
Why this matters?

“I get a feeling that someone’s going to say
something to me. It’s alright, I say; sticks and stones may break my bones but
words will never hurt me. But it’s not
easy. United Response helped support me to keep my independence.”
