On Call Africa
On Call Africa improves health outcomes for rural communities in Zambia by increasing access to quality healthcare. It trains healthcare workers, upgrade clinics and provides access to water and toilets, and influences national health policy.
Esther and her mum and baby

When Esther was pregnant, she walked 21 miles to reach Kanyanga clinic, so she could have a nurse at her birth. But there was no water or power. Since then, On Call Africa has improved the clinic, and more women are choosing to give birth there.
Upgrading Kanyanga Clinic

Since Esther gave birth, On Call Africa has powered the clinic using solar energy, so there’s lighting and improved medical equipment, and a brick shelter has been built with proper beds. It will soon have clean running water.
Making your donation go further

Thirty five pounds could pay for a bed so expectant mums can rest comfortably in the weeks leading up to their due date. And a trustee of the charity will match-fund every donation you make, to the value of twenty thousand pounds.
