Zambia Orphans Aid UK
Zambia Orphans Aid partners with community schools to remove barriers to education in one of the most unequal countries. Our work provides disadvantaged children with the tools to change their future, creating a more equitable and just society.
Why are school meals so important?

A third of Zambian children are stunted because they haven’t received enough nutrients to grow properly. Zambia Orphans Aid helps provide nutritious lunches to pupils, which increases children’s concentration and attainment.
Meet Jennipher

Jennipher, an 18-year-old attending a rural community school, often experiences hunger due to lack of food at home. Hunger affected her ability to concentrate on her studies. She loves studying biology and explains, “I want to become a doctor.”
The sustainable approach

To help hungry students, Zambia Orphans Aid assisted Jennipher’s school to build a fish farm. Today, two ponds harvest fish that help the school kitchen serve tasty and nutritious lunches to its students. Excess fish is sold to earn money for books.
