Ian worries about how Adam is coping, and Paul has a memorable encounter.

Ruairi feels better after going for a hack with Alice. Julianne has sent him some money labelled ‘Final Payment’. He’s starting to see now that she wasn’t good for him. Alice encourages him to feel positive about himself.

Adam still feels a disconnection with everyone else who’s grieving for Jennifer. Alice and Martha arrive to release rice paper boats on the Am in memory of Jennifer. Adam apologises to Alice for his behaviour on Wednesday. Kate’s still ignoring him. In the meantime Alice is trying to get Kate to slow down on her decision about Spiritual Home’s future. She’s also trying to encourage Ruairi to make things up with Brian.

Later, the boat’s a success and Ian asks Alice if she’s coping with everything on her plate. Just about she replies, before asking about the pizza van. Ian finds Adam on the riverbank. Jennifer’s death has finally hit him. Ian comforts him and suggests they have a family day out tomorrow.

After being stood up by Ben, a tipsy Ruairi gets chatting to Paul. Paul asks Ruairi about his London situation. Ruairi replies there no longer is one. Paul invites Ruairi on a night out with him and his mates. Later, when Ruairi can’t find his keys, he suggests going to Paul’s, but Paul says no, resisting Ruairi’s attempt to kiss him. Alice opens the door and Ruairi rushes in to be sick. Alice explains Ruairi’s dealing with a lot at the moment. She’d like Paul to keep an eye on him. Paul says not to worry, Ruairi will be fine.
