Rita Moreno talks to BBC 100 Women about stereotypes and representation on the big screen, as well as life as a Latina icon today.
Very few performers gain EGOT status - the outstanding achievement of winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award - but Rita Moreno is one of just 17 of them. The Puerto Rican actress is perhaps best known for her Oscar-winning role as Anita in the 1961 film West Side Story but has an acting career that has spanned seven decades. At 91, and after having made headlines with the award-winning remake of West Side Story by Steven Spielberg, she talk to BBC 100 Women about stereotypes and representation on the big screen, as well as life as a Latina icon today.
