Irish Catholic leader pays tribute to former pontiff

Pope Francis has led the funeral of his predecessor Pope Benedict in front of tens of thousands of pilgrims in St Peter's Square. The late pontiff was buried in a crypt beneath St Peter's Basilica. Speaking from the Vatican, Archbishop Eamon Martin, told BBC Radio Foyle that it was a simple and dignified gathering in line with Pope Benedict's wishes.
Also, The National Union of Journalists is to meet BBC Northern Ireland's interim director Adam Smyth over proposals to cut jobs and news programmes at Radio Foyle.
