Jamaica v Ireland

Ireland and Jamaica meet at Headingley, Leeds, for their first match of the tournament in the men’s Group C.

Ireland are two-time quarter-finalists at the World Cup, although they missed out on the knockout stages at the last tournament in 2017. The Wolfhounds came through the 2019 European play-offs to qualify and can count on the likes of former England scrum-half Richie Myler.

Jamaica, who are making their World Cup debut, are also represented by Super League players and will be looking to cause an upset with a win in their first game.
