The opening day of the Rugby League World Cup continues with a mouthwatering clash between reigning champions Australia and three-time semi-finalists Fiji at Headingley.

Australia have won the tournament a record 11 times and are favourites to lift the trophy once again. But there are strong signs that the rest of the world are catching up, and Mal Meninga’s side will arrive in England somewhat undercooked, having gone nearly three years without an official match.

The Kangaroos will need to get any rust out of their system quickly in Leeds against Fiji, a side who have reached the semi-finals at the last three World Cups.
