Lord’s Taverners
The Lord’s Taverners exists to positively impact the lives of young people facing the challenges of inequality.
Providing inclusive cricket programmes, the charity empowers young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to overcome the challenges of inequality, and reach their potential.

Super Sam

At nine-week’s old, Sam’s mum was told he would probably never walk or talk after experiencing a brain haemorrhage. He was also born with a rare genetic condition which means he doesn’t have any forearms. Now, through Super 1s, Sam plays cricket regularly and works as a qualified coach.
Inclusive cricket

People living with disabilities who want to be active say that accessibility is a huge barrier. But Super 1s offers young people with disabilities the chance to play regular cricket, and enjoy the benefits of playing sport for free in a safe and inclusive environment.
Importance of Role Models

Seeing people with disabilities leading the programme and coaching on it inspires and empowers disabled young people taking part to learn and achieve, regardless of their ability or situation. They are fantastic role models for those following them and help participants and their families see what they can do, not what they can’t.
