Episode 3
Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson reflects on how disabled people are still years away from genuine equality in Wales and beyond.
In the final episode in the series, Tanni reflects on a lifetime of campaigning with her friend and disability rights activist John Luxton at his home in Penarth. She catches up with one of her early Paralympic heroes John Harris and asks TV presenter Mik Scarlett if the 2012 Games in London actually had some negative impact on the perception of disabled people in Britain.
Meanwhile Coronation Street actor Cherylee Houston tells Tanni how she thinks disabled representation in the media still has some way to go. There’s also interviews with Independent living pioneer and Welshman John Evans, councillor Sara Pickard who has Down's syndrome, profoundly deaf performer Jonny Cotsen from Cardiff, Joe Powell who has Asperger's syndrome and Gardeners' World host Sue Kent, who lives in Swansea and was born with an upper limb disability.
To end the series, Tanni comes up with a list of hopes and demands to improve disability rights in Wales and beyond.
Tanni's Lifetime Road to Equality is an MIM Production for BBC Radio Wales.
