A P&O ferry which suffered a mechanical failure at sea is to remain at Larne port until further inspections are carried out by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The European Causeway drifted off the Antrim coast for almost two hours yesterday before it returned to Larne. The vessel was detained by the MCA last month following safety concerns after P&O hired agency workers to replace 800 sacked staff.
