Record Store Day with Erasure’s Andy Bell

Stuart Maconie celebrates Record Store Day, playing a selection of special new releases. Plus, Erasure’s Andy Bell shares his First, Last and Everything.

Stuart Maconie presents solo, with a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.

To mark Record Store Day today, Stuart plays a selection of special new releases and is joined by Record Store Day supporter Erasure’s Andy Bell, who shares his ‘First, Last and Everything’ – that’s the first record he bought, the most recent he has been enjoying and the one that means ‘everything’ to him.

Andy Bell is the lead singer of synth-pop duo Erasure, who have topped the charts with various hit singles, including ‘A Little Respect’, ‘Sometimes’ and ‘Always’. The band also have their own Record Store Day release, a vinyl edition of ‘Ne:Ep’, which originally came out on CD and cassette last year.

Also on the show... long-running feature ‘The Chain’ which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8000 songs.

With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
