Rainforest Foundation UK
Rainforest Foundation UK works to support forest communities in their efforts to protect their environment and fulfil their rights to land, life and livelihood. We believe the best way to protect the rainforest is through empowering indigenous peoples to defend their ancestral lands. Our human rights centred approach achieves this locally, by supporting communities on the frontline of tropical deforestation, and globally we combine this approach with research to inform policy change and laws to protect forests and people.
Planning how to use their lands

This community in the Democratic Republic of Congo is being trained by Rainforest Foundation UK teams in land-use planning, as part of our Community Forestry project.
Your impact

Your support of our work helps communities like this to secure rights to their lands. Here, Ilinga residents in the Democratic Republic of Congo celebrate their new Community Forest.
Empowering women

Through our Community Forest work in the Democratic Republic of Congo, women have been empowered to participate further in community decision making and have claimed new spaces to voice their needs.
