Rafiki Thabo Foundation
Education is critical to escaping hunger and the poverty cycle - a springboard for children of all abilities to fulfil their potential - and yet the families of millions of children around the world cannot afford their school fees. With Rafiki Thabo Foundation’s support, disadvantaged children in Uganda, Kenya, and Lesotho are empowered through education; secure good employment and initiate positive change in their communities.
From abandonment to hope: meet Praise

Praise was abandoned by her father at 8 years old because she was suddenly blind. Stigmatised, terrified, and hungry, her dreams of an education and a better future perished. Now a Rafiki scholar, brave and determined Praise is on her way to realising her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Education and economic empowerment

Around 8 out of 10 children in Uganda are unable to access secondary school, only 1 in 20 make it onto higher education. Enabling access to education for 245 young people in 2021 alone, our grassroots approach to economic empowerment of rural African communities includes scholarships, school infrastructure and school meals for the poorest students.
Bright Futures

Without support, these children would remain trapped in poverty, working the land, or be married off at a tender age to ease their family’s burden. Every donation made to our appeal will remove barriers to education and give power to their aspirations, dreams, and brighter futures in pivotal professions. Our graduates in turn support other children in their communities into education!
