Jamie’s guest on the show this week is the South London singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Sarah Williams White, who joins him for a Take 5 interview.
Growing up in Lewisham, Sarah found her way into jazz via neo-soul stars like Erykah Badu before falling in love with the work of Ella Fitzgerald. A string of singles led to the release of her successful 2015 debut album Of The New World.
Following a break from music, she is now back with the follow up – Unfathomable – inspired by the “greatness of nature” and how “unfathomable the universe and life itself is".
Sarah talks about her journey into jazz music, taking inspiration from a Gretchen Parlato concert and the big ideas behind her new album.
