Pianist, bandleader and composer Bill "Count" Basie was one of the powerhouses of jazz and held sway in a career of almost 50 years from when he formed his first band in 1936. Legendary recordings alongside Lester Young, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington are included.
