Someone comes knocking for Alan and opportunity knocks for one of the stars of The Mysteries.

Alan leaves a voicemail for Usha; he’d love her to read his reworked speech. He also accepts he should have done more to enter into the Christmas spirit with her and Amy. Later, surprised Alan opens the door to Usha. As soon as she heard his message she decided to come home. Usha’s pleased to hear of all the food donations Alan’s received in her absence. She pleads for him not to cancel the plans Susan and Clarrie have made for him – she would love the quietest of Christmases.
Lynda is appalled that Kirsty’s laid on cake for the cast of The Ambridge Mystery Plays after a disastrous dress rehearsal of The Nativity. Kirsty tells her to stop panicking and reminds her that people are taking part out of love. She refuses to tell the cast about another run-through on Lynda’s behalf, but offers to soften the blow with a follow-up announcement about the cast awards Oliver is sponsoring.
Lynda challenges Lily about her wobbly performance. Lily exclaims she was cold and twigs that Susan deliberately let her choose the flimsiest costumes. When Susan declares the attendants are all defecting to her (due to the warmer costume choice), Lynda’s unfazed. Lily will be fine with the horse. Lily’s outraged by Susan’s tactics, but rises to the competition – Susan’s entrance won’t be a patch on hers!
