Jamie’s guest this week is singer-songwriter Cherise, who talks about finding her voice through jazz, evolving her sound and new EP, Remedy.

Jamie’s guest this week is the London based singer-songwriter Cherise!

A leading voice on the UK jazz scene for several years, Cherise came through the jazz education organisation Tomorrow’s Warriors and went on to perform with a great number of exciting young bands from Nérija to Nubiyan Twist. Shortly after winning the JazzFM Vocalist of the Year award in 2019, she began a solo career with her single Paradise.

Cherise’s new EP Remedy is released this month and it sees the vocalist moving in a different, more soulful direction. She speaks to Jamie about growing her voice through jazz, loving Anita Baker and how she’s found her new sound.
