Pendle Radicals

Sean Fletcher heads to the top of Pendle Hill in east Lancashire to discover the story of George Fox, who began the Quaker movement. He is part of the area’s new Radicals Trail, which encourages people to find a series of plaques dedicated to free thinkers and non-conformists. The trail also takes Sean to the only remaining Inghamite church, established by Benjamin Ingham in 1750. James Lusted meets pastor Mick Fleming in nearby Burnley, who is carrying on the tradition of radical Christianity in the area. Whilst in the beautiful countryside surrounding Pendle, which is popular with walkers, Sean hears how one man’s faith motivates him to volunteer for the local mountain rescue team.
