Into the Maelstrom: The Scottish Kayak Expedition
Mark Stephen meets Jim Breen and Angus Mathieson who took part in an expedition to the Arctic Circle, traversing the world's largest whirlpool in kayaks.
In 1980 four Scots set out on an expedition to the Artic Circle in North West Norway. Jim Breen, Angus Mathieson, Bill Turnbull and Peter Wilson kayaked 400 miles round island archipelagos and through the world's largest whirlpool, the infamous Maelstrom.
At the Scottish Maritime Museum, Mark Stephen catches up with Jim and Angus who show him round the 40th anniversary exhibition.
