Chris has a dilemma on his hands and Ben comes clean.

Ben’s reluctant to join Beth in her wild swim, and she detects his reticent mood. Eventually he confesses he lied on Monday about relationships, and admits he’s recently dumped someone. Beth needs to think about this. He lied to her, and it was pathetic. Ben offers to take her home, but when she hesitates he sees an opportunity to explain that he wasn’t feeling it with Evie any more, and that he felt bad for finishing it but that it was the right thing to do. He apologises for the lie, and promises to be honest from now on. Beth’s good humoured response is to soak Ben, first with a shake from Bess and then by pushing him into the water.
Amy’s been on a spa day with Usha. She’s quite enjoying being back in her old bedroom. Chris admires her attitude. He observes his parents are being sickeningly lovey dovey right now. Chris wants to move out, back into the Nest. It feels right. Amy thinks it’s a big decision for him. Chris gets an email from the rehab centre – they want him to visit Alice on Monday. He prompts Jennifer that she’s had the same message. They need to each write Alice a letter and read it out to her. Jennifer sees it as a positive that Alice has asked to see them. They agree that it won’t be easy, but if it will help Alice, that’s what they must do.
