Great Britain's Charlotte Dujardin is the two-time defending individual champion but Valegro, her partner in both previous Olympics, has retired, and she will be riding the inexperienced Gio. Dujardin will also be hoping for a team medal, alongside double Olympic medallist Carl Hester and debutante Lottie Fry.
