James Lovelock - Scientist and Engineer

James Lovelock, one of the past century's most influential environmental scientists, died this week at the age of 103. He developed the Gaia hypothesis - the idea that our planet and all the life on it are part of one dynamic, self-regulating system. Last year he spoke to HARDtalk’s Stephen Sackur about his work and the fragility and resilience of life on Earth.
