Kate rages to Jennifer about Brian giving her a hard time over her interest in moving Spiritual Home to rewilding land. Jennifer wants to concentrate on planning the catering for Martha’s christening – with Fallon a godparent she’ll be busy on the day. This is news to Kate which only riles her further. Fallon arrives to chat christening menus with Jennifer but finds herself caught in the crossfire between Jennifer and Kate. As things escalate Fallon makes her excuses and leaves.
Harrison bumps into Alice and thanks her for choosing him and Fallon to be godparents. Alice misunderstands his reference to having spoken to Chris, who Harrison thinks is looking shattered. Alice starts to divulge too much and then quickly tries to row back, but Harrison presses her and she comes clean about drinking the bottle of wine that Brian brought. Harrison comforts Alice; he’s seen people let their kids down a lot worse than her. Alice is grateful. She can’t talk like this to Chris. Harrison tells her he’s always around if she needs him.
Fallon reports her hellish Aldridge experience to Harrison. He tries to cheer her up with photos of Martha. Fallon wonders if he’s getting broody. He insists he isn’t, he’s just looking forward to being a godparent again – the best bit is you can hand them back!
Kate calls Alice and digs at her for not choosing her to be a godparent. Alice defends herself but angry Kate swiftly hangs up, leaving Alice shaken and bewildered.
