Susan declares she’s a woman transformed by Lee. Helen’s amused, but notices Susan flinch in pain. Susan dismisses it as cramp. Clarrie asks Susan to do a reading at her wedding vows renewal. Susan declares she’d love to. Clarrie reports Eddie wants to put his publicity photo for the Darrington Mystery Plays into Ben’s time capsule. As she debates the wisdom of this and reports on Ed’s lambs, she too spots Susan wincing repeatedly. Alarmed Clarrie and Helen and suggest an ambulance. They’re about to dial when Susan admits she’s wearing an abs stimulator, to tone her muscles for riding. She got it from Lee, who believes it’s for Neil. Helen has to laugh – you’re only supposed to wear it for a few minutes at a time. Embarrassed Susan begs them not to tell anyone. Helen assures Susan she just needs a bit more practice with the riding. And her secret’s safe with them.
Chris has to work and Alice assures him it’s fine. She and Martha will be good on their own. But later Chris gets a call from panicky Alice – Marth won’t stop crying. Alice wants to ring the hospital but Chris rushes home. Alice worries Martha’s not normal. The two row, and exhausted Chris blames Alice in the moment. Once Martha’s asleep Alice points out Chris was just saying what he’s thinking. It’ll always be this way. Chris insists he loves Alice and doesn’t blame her. Alice thinks he’ll never forgive or trust her. Chris just wants them to be happy; Martha’s what matters now.
