The men’s pole vault is set to be a thriller, with Duplantis in action in a mouthwatering head-to-head with France’s Renaud Lavillenie. Duplantis deposed Lavillenie as the world record holder last year – can the 21-year-old Swede stop his French rival claiming his fifth European indoor crown in Poland?

Also catching the eye on a packed Saturday night schedule is the men’s 60m final. Britain has an impressive record in the continental championships, including gold in two of the last three editions. Can they top the podium again in Torun?
