Susan is led on and Natasha makes a plan.
Natasha’s still sore at Tom. She explains that the fact he went to Harrison about Kirsty’s attempts to find the lads hasn’t actually stopped Kirsty. She’s continuing her search online and Natasha is continuing to help her. Tom begs her forgiveness, and eventually Natasha relents before changing the subject. She and Helen have decided to give Tony some video messages for his 70th birthday, recorded by family members. Later Natasha and Tom laugh over Henry and Jack’s contributions. Tony’s going to be blown away. However Peggy’s message stuns them. She’s rather too honest about how she felt when Tony was a baby, and is very blunt. They agree Tony will be upset but they can’t leave it out; what can they do?
Echo reporter Rebecca is in the shop, and inquisitive Susan soon establishes the purpose of her presence in Ambridge. She sympathises with Rebecca’s frustration at not finding anyone who’ll talk to her about the Grey Gables explosion. Before she knows it Susan is disclosing large amounts of information over a shared bottle of wine. She’s happy to help; such an important story needs to be told. Whilst Neil is initially much less forthcoming, Susan gets him on board and in no time he too agrees to an interview. They both hope it helps. After all, they’re all victims in this situation, aren’t they?
