03/12/2020 Waiting: A Reflection for Advent

To say that Advent is about waiting is somewhat of a cliché, and not necessarily helpful at a time when it feels like the entire world has stopped, in a great pregnant pause out of which there is no guaranteed time for delivery. This year especially, what are we waiting for? What will it mean to celebrate God with us, when his presence cannot be seen, heard and shared with others in other churches, with the people we love, with family and friends we long to see, touch and hug? A reflection for Advent on 'waiting' by the Rev Dr Isabelle Hamley, Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury.
