Africa Special

Another chance to see Ciru Muriuki coming from Kenya's capital Nairobi with stories from across Africa.

Another chance to see Witness History from Kenya. Ciru Muriuki brings us five witnesses to African history including the story of anti-apartheid leader, Steve Biko, who died in police custody in South Africa. We also learn about the radical women's rights laws that brought abortion and contraception to 1950s Tunisia ahead of many western countries. We hear how the world's largest refugee camp was set up nearly 30 years ago to shelter Somalis fleeing from war. Plus the mystery of Great Zimbabwe - an 800 year old ruined city whose history has become a battleground. And the Kenyan pop song that became a global hit.
