Episode Four

In this episode Dr Sam Willis is in the ancient city of Bukhara where he finds out how goods were sent to the markets of the west, showing how trading methods sparked cultural, technical and artistic revolutions all along the Silk Road. Sam also goes back to school to learn where modern mathematics and astronomy were born.
