Tiger’s Bay Hero; Race Across the World; Just the Two of Us; The Salt Path; Conor Marcus

The Good Samaritan from Tiger’s Bay tells John about entertaining the locals on his morning walks and Raynor Winn talks about her life-affirming true story as told in her book The Salt Path.

John broadcasts live from Studio 8 as he’s joined on the line by Alex McGrugan whose morning walks in Tiger’s Bay in Belfast as his alter ego “Elsa” have been the highlight of many of his neighbours’ day. Race Across the World on BBC 2 is coming to its finale as John chats to competitor Jo who’s been on the adventure of a life time in South America with her son Sam. Playwright Sarah Gordon tells John how her lock-in with her new husband inspired her short comedy film “Just the Two of Us”; we hear the story of Raynor Winn and her inspiring journey along The Salt Path in Cornwall; 14 year old Conor Marcus from Loughinisland busks on air as he releases his new single “Hold Me Close Again” and Paula McIntyre cooks Sticky Asian beef with ginger to celebrate Great British Beef Week.
