Beatrice by Nicole Flattery

A teenager develops her business plan, in spite of her parents’ divorce, friend and society issues. Read by Beccy Henderson.

At a private club, 14 year old Beatrice attends a class for female CEO's of the future.

She has been developing her own business since she was 13. However, outside the classroom, her parents are divorcing and people no longer get out of their cars.

Irish author Nicole Flattery's work has been published in the Stinging Fly, the White Review, the Dublin Review, the Irish Times, Winter Papers and the 2019 Faber anthology of New Irish Writing. She was awarded the Irish Book Awards Short Story of the Year 2019 and the 2017 White Review Short Story Prize.

Her debut short story collection ‘Show Them A Good Time’ was published in 2019. It was A New Statesman, Irish Times and Guardian Book of The Year.
