Blossoms live at Maida Vale & Biffy Clyro drop in

Jo's broadcasting live from the BBC's Maida Vale studios and joined by Blossoms in session, playing tracks from their latest #1 album ‘Foolish Loving Spaces’.

'Foolish Loving Spaces' was produced by the band’s consistent and talented team of James Skelly and Rich Turvey at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool.

Since forming in 2013, Blossoms have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim. Their 2016 debut full length topped the album charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to earn the band BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations, while 2018’s Cool Like You charted at number 4 in the UK album chart, spawning the anthemic singles I Can’t Stand It, There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) and How Long Will This Last?

Plus Biffy Clyro drop in with their brand new single ‘Instant History’, which is the first track to preview their forthcoming eighth studio album.

“This time around we wanted to lead with something that was the most out there thing which we’ve got on the record. ‘Instant History’ is the biggest, most slammest pop moment we’ve ever worked on,” enthuses frontman Simon Neil. “It’s a fantastic opening statement, although musically it doesn’t reflect the album’s direction. But thematically it’s a good pointer for what the album is about: learning from mistakes and realising how you can move things forward. Things can be similar although they’ll never be the same, but let’s not be scared of that.”
