Eltham Palace 3
The Roadshow is at Eltham Palace in London where treasures include a diamond bracelet, a tea set that went to Antarctica and a thermometer as tall as a person.
The Roadshow comes from Eltham Palace, an art deco gem in the leafy suburbs of south London. On a hazy summer’s day, the crowds turn out in force bringing their family treasures with them.
Jewellery expert Joanna Hardy is dazzled by an exquisite emerald and diamond bracelet made by one of Paris’s top design houses. Also making an appearance are a tea set from the Terra Nova, the ship used by Captain Scott on his ill-fated Antarctic expedition of 1910; a giant thermometer used in an advertisement; and a Roman jug that’s survived unscathed for 2000 years.
