Gabby Logan presents live coverage of the Great Manchester Run, with Ugandan Olympic distance runner Jacob Kiplimo leading a competitive men’s field. The 18-year-old claimed silver at the World Cross Country Championships in March and is tipped to become a global superstar.

In the women’s race, it is Kenya versus Ethiopia with two greats going head-to-head – world and Commonwealth 5000m gold medallist Hellen Obiri lines up against Olympic 1,500m silver medallist Genzebe Dibaba in what should be an electrifying encounter.

As well as the elite runners, over 30,000 competitors line up for the 10k and half-marathon routes to raise money and awareness for many good causes, and we will hear some of the wide-ranging reasons behind their participation.
