Episode 3

In the semi-final of Celebrity Painting Challenge, Jane Seymour, Phil Tufnell, Josie d’Arby, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Amber Le Bon and George Shelley are desperate to create their best work to date to claim the last three spots on the gallery wall. It’s crunch time as judges Daphne Todd OBE and Lachlan Goudie pick their three finalists, and to up the ante, the artists take on the tricky genre of movement.

In the warm up task, the artists’ studio turns into a farmyard as the celebrities attempt to master movement with some clucky friends, with some succeeding much better than others. It’s the last master class before the final, and mentors Diana Ali and Pascal Anson are at the ready to help the artists out of their painting pickles as movement proves to be the biggest test of them all.

The all-important challenge brings with it a superstar of stage, screen and the page, as they capture on canvas Joey the Warhorse in all his articulated glory. Amber Le Bon is determined to impress and earn a place on the gallery wall, Jane struggles to encapsulate movement, while the competition ramps up between Josie and Laurence as they go head to head painting a triptych.

After the judges declare their two favourites and the public pick another, the gallery wall is complete. From here, Daphne and Lachlan put their heads together to make an incredibly tough decision. Which three celebrity artists will they choose to go through to next week’s final?
